  • [S. 8(1a)] "A report...shall include...plans, profiles, and specifications of a drainage works"
  • Suggestions to include on a plan:
    • Watershed boundary (should also be delineated for branch drains)
    • Drain location
    • Property boundaries, names of property owners and roll numbers
    • Survey stations at fence lines and other significant locations
    • Location of benchmarks
    • Legend of symbols used
    • Signed and sealed by the design engineer
  • Suggestions to include on a profile:
    • Show elevations for ground, present and proposed drain bottom
    • Cross-sections of the drain
    • Legend of symbols used
    • Signed and sealed by the design engineer
  • Specifications:
    • Specifications may be provided for a variety of different items such as road crossings, private crossings, fencing, brush removal, seeding, tile standards, catch basins, safety provisions, working area, etc. However the engineer must ensure that detailed specifications are provided for each item called for in the engineer’s report. If sufficient detail on an item does not exist, the contractor may construct it in a manner that is significantly different from that anticipated by the engineer, or may demand extra compensation if the engineer indicates the desired specification after the contract has been awarded. In addition, the drainage superintendent will not be able to identify required maintenance or repair work without the specifications.
